The Feminization of the Left

I have been thinking this for a while and this article by Kathleen Parker is a great place to attempt to articulate it.  First, let me say that I believe there are clear and strong differences between men and women, not only physically (of course), but emotionally, socially, etc.  The differences are pervasive.  Second, let it be clear that I believe this is not only a good thing, but that it is also a divinely-intended thing.  Humanity needs the feminine and the masculine traits.  Furthermore, there are times and places that each genders' strengths should be preferred.

For example, I want a feminine touch when raising children.  There is a nurturing sense to care for a child that a mother is uniquely qualified to provide.  I also appreciate the "feminine touch" in decorating.  Most bachelor pads are known for being strictly utilitarian and void of the "finer things" that can even mildly resemble a "home".  On the flip side, it is beneficial to have a man's ability to compartmentalize life and function strongly from a cerebral realm in times of crisis or emergency.

Well, as it relates to politics, it seems that the Left has adopted compassion as it's core governing principle.  It is not exclusively, but predominantly, a feminine trait.  This reveals itself in combating male aggression and sexuality, starting with expelling 5 year old boys for kissing girls in kindergarten and forcing boys to "keep their hands to themselves" on the playground.  It also shows itself in the war the Left has raged against gender differences at every level, even to the point of forcing out the President of Harvard for hinting at this difference.  Presumably this is done to overcome oppression of women, especially if the differences are erased and men and women are acknowledged as being the same; which is different than being seen as "equal".

Well, when it comes to dealing with world matters, Parker seems to note a lack of testosterone in Obama's approach.
"...Unfortunately, most of world history seems to have pivoted on the balance or imbalance of hormones, with testosterone presenting the greatest challenge. (I note this as a fan.)

In what may prove to be an epochal development, Obama seems to have his under control. He doesn't strut, swagger or flex. He doesn't even notice the hydrant.

If George W. Bush was a cowboy, Obama is a group hug.

He says we should show leadership by listening. That we should work in partnership with others. That we should show humility. This is, of course, pure porn for women. But unfortunately, women don't rule the world. Men still do. And we have to worry whether Obama will be viewed as weak and the U.S., therefore, vulnerable.

And because the world is thus, we are also necessarily concerned whether Obama will respond aggressively enough when appropriate....

A Rasmussen poll reported that 57 percent of Americans want military action against North Korea. (Another war so soon?) John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said the president's approach constituted "hand-wringing," which is a polite way of saying Obama is "girly."
