changing the world
I was talking to a friend who is also an ETL-er (Eat to Live, Dr. Fuhrman plan for eating healthy), and in that conversation it got reinforced to me how of all the things you can do to change the world for the better, changing your eating habits probably has the biggest impact. What can most of us do to change the world? vote? go to church, help your neighbors and your church; volunteer in the community. All great things. bash politicians? no, that's not doing a darn thing. But adopting the ETL lifestyle, that can change the world if enough people do it. First there is your health---for the vast majority of us, all our ailments would be cured with this eating style, no exaggeration; read the books, try it for 6 weeks and you will be convinced. Medical costs would be so much lower, the government could cover the cost for a small amount. Doctors would be out of business but they are smart, they can adapt. Then there is your happiness. When you are healthy, and your close friends and relatives aren't suffering either, you are much happier. Then wouldn't it be nice if 10 billion animals in this country alone weren't killed every year? Then there is the environmental impact of all those animals, both from feeding them, and their waste. You contribute much more to global warming by eating meat than by commuting in your car. So, by adopting ETL, you can cure your health, become happier, save the economy, save the animals, and save the environment. Wow! That's something to aim for, isn't it?
