Abort Launch! ABORT! ABORT! ABORT! (And thoughts on truth).

Well - this last week was super frustrating at work and a relief at the same time.

Here's the deal.  The last eleven companies/organizations I've worked for have been number one in their field.  Until this one.

I have managed, coordinated or implemented changes across both the inter-state, national and international scale in my 17 years in the private and government sector.  I can guarantee you I've done more sales to tougher crowds than anyone over me. But now - my senior management is complaining I've moved too fast and they aren't ready.

I enjoy they are giving me the time to talk with them but *IVE DONE THIS BEFORE* IVE SEEN IT DONE BEFORE* IVE WORKED WITH PEOPLE FAR MORE POWERFUL THAN ANYONE IN THIS COMPANY AND WATCHED THEM MAKE CHANGES ACROSS INTERNATIONAL BORDERS ON A SCALE TEN TIMES THE SIZE OF THIS* I CAN TELL THEM FROM EXPERIENCE AND MY TRAINING THEY ARE SCREWING IT UP*

At any rate, the project got put on hold 30 minutes before I was supposed to roll it out.  They asked me a bunch of questions about it I have already answered going back several months.  I have presented the info I don't know how many times - but when I met with my boss' boss the other day he seemed agitated to meet with me.  He even threw at me (like it is a problem) "You're acting like we're going national with this!" (Is.....that a problem?  You got something better?)  Going back to my background....I've done this before and seen the benefits of it....I know what I'm doing - I covered my bases and they didn't live up to their end.

Well....what happens on the bottom is a reflection of what goes on on the top.  If it's fubar on the bottom - that's cuz the top isn't managing it, doesn't know what's going on or hasn't trained or corrected it.

If you're not familiar with it...there is a principle called "The Peter Principle."

In other words, bosses are in their positions because they are incompetent.  If they were competent in their positions, they'd be higher than they are.

At any rate - I don't know necessarily that my bosses are incompetent - but I have seen this (changes made on a national and international scale) done hundreds of times at a way faster pace and I can tell you "This isn't how you do it" and I can say "This is how you do it."

At any rate - I get a second chance so to speak - they are looking at it over the weekend.  But....I'm exhausted.  I've put hundreds of hours in this to meet a deadline and to push a company ahead.  This project I'm putting out even solves the "Peter Principle" and prepares people for leadership and management.

It fixes so damned much they are fools if they don't go for it.

But we shall see......

In the meantime - I slept 20 hours today having kept up the pace of 100+ hour workweeks for a few weeks now trying to meet their pace they led me on to believe we were going to go with.

In between sleeps I watched the movie (sort of ) "Casino."   The social psychology of those films is actually educational to me - despite my religious tenets strongly advising against Rated R movies.   You know....that's the thing about truth.  All truth is true.  But not all truth is important.  Some truths you don't need to know.  Some truth is harmful.  Like....say....the impact of heroin on your brain.  You don't NEED to experience that first hand.  Nor do you NEED to see it first hand.   That's my thoughts for the day.
