Lets get something Straight about Dont Ask Dont Tell

I keep seeing the phrase about the DADT policy that it is a "17 year ban on gays in the military."

Nothing could be farther from the truth and what really has me angry is how easily the lie flows from the lips, pens and keyboards of the news media.

DADT was the first policy that ALLOWED gays in the military.   DADT *ENDED* the prevention of gays from serving in the military.

Before then you couldn't be gay.  Heck - I had to answer questions about my sex life - because DADT wasn't in place yet.

If everyone would just get that straight.....and if you caught that....you're pretty smart.....
