1400 arrested in Malaysia rally

Police in Malaysia have arrested more than 1,400 anti-government protesters after thousands of people marched on the capital Kuala Lumpur.

Officers fired repeated rounds of tear gas to break-up the crowds who had evaded city-wide roadblocks to take part in the rally.

At least a dozen people were hurt including opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim who fell over during a tear gas attack.
