Teens Gone Wild: Bathroom Riot

When I was in high school, I was never impressed with the shallow intellectual capacity of my peers.  High school was "Stupid time."  I couldn't wait to get out and go join the adult world and sail away with the Navy.....where I discovered that adults are the same idiots who graduated from high school....annnnd....stupid time continues.....for years on end.  Law enforcement only furthered this realization.   I remember being ticked off with the watch rotations that I had to work on Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, New Years, Kwanzaa & my birthday AGAIN. (Delta Section was having a rough year).  I made a proposal in the middle of dispatch:  "Everyone is going to be mature adults for 24 hours on Christmas.  Nobody's going to do anything stupid, we all know what's right and wrong, drive responsibly, no DUI's, no domestic violence, hold off on killing your girlfriend or wife cuz she cheated on you until two days AFTER christmas and then we can come back and resume business as usual - okay?  I just need one holiday off!"

Anyways, it didn't happen and I remember we had one of the key witnesses to an event with the Japanese Mafia went off a bridge that night in a DUI and died in the snow on the bank of a river Christmas night from drowning.  That was a night.....wow.   That sucked.   You know what sucks about all that?  You know what REALLY SUCKS?  Is you have officers trained to save a life and here we pull him out because he's stupid - and then after the officers do everything they can to save him from his stupidity....the rest of their lives because they care.....they blame themselves that they couldn't save him.

At any rate, I hadn't expected this blog to become so serious.

Let's see if I can recover this.

Anyways, I do remember high school as stupid time.  One guy was considered the exotic species because he was in the drama club and....he was bisexual....or so I heard.  Why my friend thought he needed to tell me he knew the guy was bisexual I don't know.  How my friend found out.  I don't know.  Another, an absolutely beautiful and charming girl who for some reason needed to compensate for low self esteem went on a cocaine binge and ended up in in-patient rehab and came back to school with more than a few brain cells missing.  She never was herself again after that.  That really was a shame - she was an angel and one of the kindest people I knew and I have NO CLUE how all that happened.  The one I remember as being particularly stupid in general for some reason was when the US initiated military action in some part of the world - the students decided to "protest for peace" by skipping class and screaming against the "wrongs." Signs covered lockers, chanting. Oh yes, don't forget the chanting of anti-war slogans borrowed from the 1960s.  Can't forget those. Stupidity made a show of its presence rather than just being the accepted but not-so-visible norm.

And what does a teenager know of wrongs.....like being grounded or something? OH THE HUMANITY!

Well.  Now that I'm done digressing.....THESE students....couldn't go to the bathroom.  http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2010/12/10/bathroom-ban-leads-to-riot-at-nyc-high-school/

I think a protest might be in order on that one - not a riot - but a protest maybe - or a colostomy bag.
Maybe a colostomy bag and a catheter might be a good idea.....saves time....
