Can anyone please explain to me why TV anchors feel compelled to stand outside to report on hurricanes? To me, it only makes them look stupid. Is there any value to it besides attempting to prove they are tough and willing to "go where the story is"?
I wish someone would tell these people "Don't you have the sense God gave a goose? Get inside!" Other than great blooper video footage when a huge wave knocks Geraldo Rivera to his knees or you catch them swearing at the wind [forgetting their mic is hot], is there really something more to this whole charade?
